The Zvizdets Mangustu [Mongoose (operation) is fucked up] Telegram channel: ✅ Thus, it can be said that the Russian command has partially achieved its primary objective in the Dobropillia direction: its forward units have effectively reached the immediate approaches to Dobropillia from the east and south. However, they have not yet managed to break into the town itself with any significant assault infantry forces. Furthermore, the prospects for actually storming and capturing the town itself currently appear quite ambiguous (I will explain my reasoning below). Isolated, partially successful "raids" by individual Russian infantrymen—acting alone or in pairs—into the outskirts of Dobropillia (near Hannivka, the heap [48.473665, 37.103645] on the town's northeastern edge, or a few blocks on its southern periphery) remain insignificant in this context. That said, they certainly indicate the existence of certain "lacunae"—or gaps, if you will—in the Ukrainian defense. Regarding the future development of the situation in the Dobropillia direction, I would like to highlight a few points: – It is evident that the command of the Russian GT "Center"—which has effectively been ordered to "take Dobropillia"—will likely attempt to envelop this AFU defensive area to a significant degree, if not encircle it entirely (a preferred method for Russian troops when capturing a sizable settlement). Moreover, they will clearly attempt to achieve this BEFORE the direct assault phase begins (i.e., before the "systematic and massive infiltration" of assault infantry into Dobropillia). This implies that, within the operational zone of its 51st CAA, the command will attempt to push forward units to reach at least the Novotroitske–Hruzke–Rubizhne–Novovodiane area, while in the zone of the 2nd CAA, they will aim for the Raksha–Sviatohorivka line. Therefore, in my opinion, we must be prepared for an intensification of the enemy's active operations in these sectors in the very near future. The likelihood of such actions by the command of the Russian 2nd and 51st CAAs will increase further if their current, persistent attempts to break through and secure a foothold in Dobropillia "on the move" ultimately fail. Incidentally, a number of combat "episodes" from recent days strongly suggest this scenario. For instance, early in October, Ukrainian forces detected and eliminated at least two small infantry groups—each consisting of a pair of Russian soldiers—attempting to covertly advance northwest of the village of Stepy (Kutuzovka), directly toward Novovodiane. Moreover, a Russian "suicide sapper" was spotted between Dobropillia and Bilozerske; acting alone, he was attempting to mine the road connecting these settlements—deep within the AFU's tactical rear. Notably, a Russian drone was operating in tandem with him, evidently monitoring and directing his actions. – Given all this, it is becoming evident—to both the Ukrainian and Russian commands—that the roads connecting the towns of Bilozerske and Dobropillia already hold significant tactical importance for the defense of the latter. This importance would increase further should Russian forces manage to envelop Dobropillia deeply enough (i.e., not only from the south and east but also from the southwest and northeast).
