The Zvizdets Mangustu [Mongoose (operation) is fucked up] Telegram channel: It is easier to achieve this using more compact, flexible, and mobile brigades (particularly by motorizing their assault units to enhance their mobility). However, when advancing troops encounter blocks of dense urban development—even if partially ruined—that is precisely where a significant number of assault infantry operating strictly on foot will be required. In other words, once their vanguard units reach the outskirts of Kramatorsk and Sloviansk, they will need not only a substantial force of assault infantry (ideally with prior experience in operations within sizable urban areas) but also units and formations specifically adapted for this type of combat, along with the necessary command-and-control, combat support, and logistics structures. – Given the above, the appearance—at this specific moment and within the Russian 3rd CAA, which is targeting the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration—of a formation specifically "tailored" for assaulting a major urban center (and one with considerable experience in this regard) is clearly no coincidence. In this context, it is worth recalling that another Russian army—the 2nd CAA, currently attempting to break through to Dobropillia from the south (and thus also actively participating in the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk offensive)—had previously formed and deployed a division very similar to the 84th MRD: the 27th MRD. This is a "reduced-strength" yet assault-oriented division that already possesses combat experience from the assault on Pokrovsk. Moreover, within the Russian 51st CAA—which is currently targeting Dobropillia and Druzhkivka, effectively comprises the former "1st AC of the DPR People's Militia," and, as I understand it, is slated to play a key role in the future hypothetical "triumphant liberation" of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk—plans had previously been made to simultaneously form two additional assault divisions of this type, based on its 114th and 132nd SMRBrs. – Thus, the main conclusion regarding the emergence of new "specialized" assault formations—such as the 84th MRD—within the Russian armies currently advancing on the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration is quite clear. The Russian military command firmly believes that in the near future (likely between late autumn and mid-winter), it will be able to execute at least the first phase of its Sloviansk-Kramatorsk offensive operation: reaching the immediate approaches to the agglomeration. In fact, that is precisely when the need for such specialized formations will become acute; evidently, the command has already begun preparing for this moment by attempting to form and "field-test" these units in advance. Therefore, the appearance of several more "assault divisions" within the Russian armies actively participating in the ongoing Sloviansk-Kramatorsk offensive operation—sometime between this autumn and early winter—is highly probable. In this context, as I understand it, the Russian military command evidently views recent events in the Lyman direction as merely a "minor incident" of a tactical nature—one incapable of significantly halting this process even at the operational level, let alone the operational-strategic one. However, in my view, the Russian military command is—to put it mildly—somewhat overestimating its capabilities in this regard. It is quite possible that the Russian assault infantry, organized into these so-called "new" assault formations, will never actually have to storm Sloviansk and Kramatorsk themselves, and will instead be forced to spend the winter merely IN FRONT OF them.
