📝Balloon Raids📝 If something is primitive — that doesn't mean it doesn't work. Ukrainian formations have begun testing a new tactic for so-called "blocking" Russian airports, which de-facto president Zelensky announced back in early September. Nearly a month and a half has passed since then, but the situation has not undergone any cardinal changes. Until yesterday — in the capital region and southern Russia, several hundred flights have been cancelled or delayed due to constant "carpet" operations. ➡️The cause was small balloon flights in Yaroslavl and Moscow Regions. The wind rose favors this: northeastern directions predominate, which allows the enemy to launch them at such distances. Balloons are also being detected in Novorossiya: the enemy uses them to deliver Starlink terminals and FPV drones to the rear to intensify attacks on public roads. The difficulty in destroying them lies in the fact that they fly at high altitude and are hard to spot, which makes air defense systems ineffective. Although cases of balloon interception by anti-aircraft FPV drones are already being recorded online, large-scale deployment of this method has not yet begun. 📌 How effective such "blocking" of airports will prove remains to be seen. However, even now all possible measures must be taken, as the enemy will continue to fill Russian skies with cheap balloons more often than with conventional drones. ❗️The Russian Armed Forces' response could be further development of the FPV air defense direction. This would allow shooting down such targets with relatively inexpensive means and avoid spending expensive air defense or aviation missiles on them. #digest #Moscow #Russia #Ukraine ✈️ RU | ✈️ EN | ✉️ MAX ✉️ VK | ✉️ RuTube | ✉️ OK | ✉️ Zen 💸Support us Original msg
