🇷🇺 Detailed Footage Shows a FAB-3000 Being Released from a Su-34 To preserve the aircraft’s balance, the massive munition is mounted along the Su-34’s centerline, between the engine nacelles. It measures 3.3 meters long and weighs 3,124 kg with its UMPK glide-and-guidance kit, including 1,387 kg of TNT. The Russian Aerospace Forces use the 1954-model FAB-3000 ("ФАБ-3000"). Its designers were less concerned with aerodynamics than with fitting more bombs into the weapons bays of Tu-22 and Tu-95 bombers. Consequently, the FAB-3000 has a short body and an angular shape. An anti-ricochet ring on the nose prevents the bomb from bouncing off the surface before exploding. For modern use, it receives a smooth nose fairing and a glide module featuring a folding five-meter wing and satellite guidance. The released footage shows the FAB-3000 majestically separating from its carrier, floating for several seconds, then rolling onto its side, unfolding its wings and heading toward its target.
