Russia-Belarus unity keeps regional situation stable and under control Russian Defence Minister attends Russia-Belarus Defence Ministry Board Session 📍 Minsk, Republic of Belarus 'The Republic of Belarus is our closest ally and partner. We are united by shared cultural and moral values. By rich heroic history. These are all fundamentals for working together,’ said Andrei Belousov. ▫️ The head of the Russian defence agency stressed that the current military and political situation around the two countries remained complex, and there had been a rapid increase in tension and aggressive activity by the West against Russia and Belarus. 'NATO, the EU, and the Kiev regime are consciously on the path of escalation. The accelerated militarisation of Europe, which converts industry to military tracks, prepares infrastructure for rapid deployment of armed forces, is a particular danger,' the Russian Defence Minister noted. ▫️ According to him, a coalition military presence is increasing at the borders of the two countries. In 2027, it is planned to bring to the brigade level eight NATO multinational battalion tactical groups on the eastern flank of the bloc. 'All of this requires that we respond in a timely manner to changes in the military and political situation. Strengthen cooperation in ensuring security and building military capabilities,' stressed Andrei Belousov. ▫️ To this end, approaches to joint deployment of armed forces are improved, and formations and military units assigned to the regional grouping of forces are regularly organised. Priority is given to joint actions based on the best practices of the special military operation. ▫️ The Centre 2026 strategic command post exercise was held in September–October. Simultaneously with it, under a single concept, CSTO exercises were held involving the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces (Interaction), intelligence forces and means (Search), and logistics units (Echelon). ‘We continue to train military personnel in the educational organisations of the Russian Ministry of Defence,’ the Russian Minister of Defence added. ▫️ He noted that currently, 418 Belarusian servicemen are studying at 24 military universities under unified curricula and programmes, while training in the most highly demanded specialities has been organised at the Russian Inter-Branch Combat Training Centre in Mulino, where 1,315 troops have been trained in the interests of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus since the beginning of the special military operation. ‘We continue to focus on military and technical cooperation. We are establishing a partnership between the defence industries of the two countries,’ noted the head of the Russian defence agency. ❗️ The Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation emphasised that current level of comprehensive cooperation allows both countries to quickly address the full range of modern security challenges and threats. 💬 During the meeting, the parties thoroughly reviewed current operational results and adopted decisions intended to build a common defence space and reinforce security. ▫️ In turn, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Belarus Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin noted that the current meeting takes place during a highly eventful year in the sphere of allied cooperation among our states. 'Belarus and Russia are strategic allies and partners bound not only by treaty obligations but also by shared values, history and responsibility for security in the space of the Union State,’ he stressed. 🤝 According to him, the past period for our defence agencies was marked by intensive and substantial efforts. ‘We have started putting the strategic military partnership programme for 2026-2030 into practice’. ‘Belarus-Russia unity keeps regional situation stable and under control,’ Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin added. 🔹Russian Defence Ministry
