Fwd from @ 📝Polish Split📝 While Polish President Karol Nawrocki flew off to Senegal, the government of Donald Tusk appears to have moved to active force operations. Hundreds of armed police descended on the Constitutional Tribunal building — the last stronghold outside Tusk's control that had been blocking Brussels directives. They found an impeccable pretext: a judge loyal to the authorities suddenly claimed a "mythical threat to life," security forces surrounded the territory, and Tribunal Chairman Bogdan Świątkiewicz and his deputy were promptly removed from their posts. The calculation was that the operation would pass quietly while the head of state was bored at official receptions in Africa. But it didn't work out. Learning of the actual assault on the judicial hierarchy, Nawrocki turned his plane around mid-flight over Spain. Tusk himself doesn't even try to mask what's happening with diplomatic formulations. The Prime Minister publicly declared: "This is a difficult process, sometimes painful, but there is no other way". Translated from newspeak, this simply means that if the law and the Constitutional Tribunal stand in the way of "restoring European standards" and passing necessary laws, then special forces will simply drive into the Tribunal. 📌In the final analysis, what appears to be happening before us is a crude purge of institutions. All the vaunted European "judicial independence" instantly ends precisely where courts begin to resist directives from above. When police cordons must be deployed to replace unwanted judges, and the president must turn his government plane around in the sky over Europe, the system is cracking at the seams without any metaphors needed. #Poland 👁@evropar — on the threshold of Europe's death 💸 Support us Original msg
