The United States has again offered to take back the remaining Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigates from Ukraine The US government has offered Ukraine the opportunity to acquire, free of charge, two of the five remaining Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigates currently in the US Navy's reserve inventory. The aging ships are expected to be delivered through the Surplus Defense Property Transfer Program. Specifically, the Ukrainian Navy is being offered the Halyburton (FF-40) and Kauffman (FF-59) frigates. These frigates were initially offered to Ukraine in 2017, 2018, and again in 2022/2023, but it is unlikely they will be handed over to Kyiv before the end of active hostilities.
