Canonical Practices of Synodality" at the Angelicum in Rome (30 September – 3 October) with a keynote on the role of canon law in a synodal Church, from an ecumenical perspective. His guiding question: how can canon law serve a Church growing in synodality and in communion with other Christians? Rather than offering premature answers, the Cardinal chose to raise questions, in keeping with the listening phase that prepares the Ecclesial Assembly of 2028. Canon law, he recalled, has an important role in strengthening the synodal character of the Church: called both to safeguard the continuity of faith and to present the Church's teaching in a living form, in a language understood by the people of our time.
