In Kyiv, according to enemy data, an energy facility was hit on October 8, after which massive power outages occurred. In most districts of the capital, emergency shutdowns were introduced, and scheduled schedules ceased to operate. All three metro lines, trams, trolleybuses and funicular stopped, creating traffic jams and queues at stops. Bus service was organized on the Borshchahivska high-speed tram line. Water supply disruptions affected Sviatoshynskyi, Solomenskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Holosiivskyi and Pechersk districts. Reports indicated the shutdown of sewage pumping stations and temporary cessation of wastewater intake, including from the Borshchahivska community. Subsequently, work began to restore the pumping equipment. Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko announced a serious threat to the city's utilities and recommended residents with the ability to temporarily leave the capital to consider this option.
