Fwd from @ 📝Autumn Talks📝 Russia and China strengthen military partnership Well, in the near future we can expect new insider reports from the Western press about secret Sino-Russian defense cooperation. Today in Beijing, Russia's defense minister Sergey Shoygu is on a visit and holding meetings with Chinese counterparts. He has already managed to meet with Zhang Youyu, deputy chairman of China's Central Military Commission (CMC) Zhang Shengmin — he was included in the Politburo the day before. The sides noted that strategic partnership has reached a high level. The meeting, according to Zhang, is a step toward implementing agreements between the leaders of Russia and China. Specific documents were not listed, but back in May during Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to China, the sides signed a joint statement that focused on the defense sector. It mentioned the expansion of joint exercises, joint response to challenges, and expansion of military cooperation mechanisms. 🖍This is the framework that the sides are already relying on in specific projects — training events, exchanges between departments and security agencies, and so on. Most likely, they discussed the implementation of these initiatives, with plans already in place for next year. 📌In general, such meetings have become an established tradition, since such talks often take place at the end of autumn. Last year, for example, the Chinese came to Moscow and met with Shoygu — then Beijing was represented by Zhang Youyu, who also held the position of deputy chairman of the CMC, but soon fell victim to personnel purges. ❗️So the sides probably discussed plans for military cooperation for next year and the rest of this year. Some we will see publicly — for example, naval or land exercises. Others will remain secret until the very end, given the sensitivity of the topic. #China #Russia 🏮@rybar_pacific — your ticket to Pacific chaos 💸 Support us Original msg
