Neither the coalition nor the Houthis can "break" each other on the ground, so both sides are increasingly shifting the war to the skies and targeting the enemy's economy. 🔻What's happening on the Yemeni front? ▪️The pro-Saudi coalition is trying to consolidate its position on a previously captured section of the western coast near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, but has not yet reached the Zubab area. ▪️The most intense clashes continue near Taiz, where heavy fighting is underway for western and southern heights. Positions change hands in places, but neither side has achieved a significant strategic breakthrough. ▪️In the provinces of Marib and Al-Jawf, the intensity of combat operations has increased, but this has not yet affected changes in the front line. Positional warfare continues there because the main forces of both sides have been redeployed to the Taiz area. ▪️In parallel, the usual exchange of strikes continues in depth. According to information from Ansarallah, Saudi aviation delivered over 74 strikes in a day against Sana'a, Marib, Saada, Al-Jawf, Taiz and other areas. In response, the Houthis again shelled oil and gas infrastructure and Riyadh airport, where, according to reports, there are many wounded. 🖍Government formations have transitioned to strategic defense. The grouping at the strait is tasked with holding a bridgehead for future restoration of shipping in the Red Sea, and reserves from "quiet" sectors of the front are being withdrawn and redeployed to Taiz. This is because the fall of the city could nullify the entire defensive line and become a symbolic collapse of the entire campaign. 🚩The Houthis pursue a mirror objective: the final capture of Taiz will close off the southern direction and free up thousands of fighters. Equally important is holding positions at the Bab el-Mandeb; success in this direction would deprive Riyadh of hope for a quick return to shipping. In turn, Ansarallah's strikes on Saudi airports and oil facilities inflict hundreds of millions in losses on the kingdom. The Houthis, in a war against a superior asymmetric opponent, can only bet on moral and economic exhaustion. ❗️In the short term, we can expect a new large-scale series of airstrikes by the Royal Saudi Air Force on Yemen.
