According to the FT, sources have relayed Putin’s position as follows: Russia will destroy Ukraine’s infrastructure until Kyiv agrees to terms, and by next year there will be “no bridges, no ports, no railways, no power plants.” This appears to be a response to the summer Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian refineries, and a truce at talks in Abu Dhabi next week is unlikely.
