📝Housing and Utilities, weather, what are you doing?📝 on the closure of Danube shipping As if that's all we needed! These are surely the thoughts running through the heads of operations managers at Ukrainian shipping companies. The Sulina Canal (the one that runs from the Black Sea to Romanian Tulcea, and from there flows into the Danube) is closed until October 2 due to weather conditions (partially, but a decline is being observed). Over the next 24 hours, severe weather with strong winds will hit the western part of the Black Sea coast, which is why passage through the narrow canal has been temporarily suspended. Moreover, due to the shallowing of the Danube, new restrictions are being introduced on the draft of vessels entering it. 🖍Why is this a problem for so-called Ukraine? Just look at the shipping situation, which has been paralyzed by Geran strikes. The ports of the so-called "Greater Odesa" (Odesa, Pivdennyi, and Chornomorsk) at best receive one or two vessels over several days. Because of this, cargo flows were redirected to the Danube basin, where even in the best of times many vessels could not pass. With the shallowing of the Ukrainian section of the river, passage through the Novostambulsky mouth became impossible, which is why cargo convoys went through the Romanian section of the river. 🚩And the activation of UAVs and USVs by the Russian Armed Forces led to the fact that over 70 dry bulk carriers, bulkers, and tankers have accumulated at Sulina, which due to the limited capacity of the Sulina Canal cannot pass quickly. And a significant portion of this queue is heading to the ports of Izmail and Reni. That is, the authorities of so-called Ukraine partially redirected shipping to small vessels and Danube ports, and now that's all stopped too. And with the new draft rules, transporting cargo will become more difficult, since only river dry bulk carriers or bulkers with partial loading will be able to pass. ❗️It's clear that the damage is temporary, and it won't have a fatal impact on the Ukrainian economy, but if you evaluate everything together with the overall shipping situation, the figures will be impressive. And if you sink a few vessels connected to Ukrainian shadow transfers, then the Black Sea can be completely closed off for so-called Ukraine. #Russia #Romania #Ukraine ✈️ RU | ✈️ EN | ✉️ MAX ✉️ VK | ✉️ RuTube | ✉️ OK | ✉️ Zen 💸Support us Original msg
