The IDF has identified 170 arabs killed during the Gaza war who were publicly described as journalists or media workers but who also served as military operatives in terrorist organizations, primarily Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The findings are based on extensive intelligence research and evidence recovered during operations in Gaza, including internal organizational documents, photographs and other records detailing affiliations and military roles. Some of those identified also participated in the Hamas-led Oct. 7, 2023 massacre on Israel. The IDF released a full list of 170 names and photographs, together with information on their organizational affiliations and roles. It has also launched a dedicated website where the evidence will be compiled and updated as additional material is cleared for publication.
