Les Houthis ont repoussé les contre-attaques de l'armée yéménite et ont pris le contrôle des îles Hanish Les Houthis ont repoussé une contre-attaque des forces gouvernementales yéménites et ont renforcé leurs positions dans le détroit de Bab el-Mandeb, s'emparant des îles de Grande et Petite Hanish dans le sud de la mer Rouge. Selon les médias du Moyen-Orient, les forces gouvernementales ont abandonné l'archipel, situé à environ 160 kilomètres au nord de Bab el-Mandeb. Les Houthis contrôlaient auparavant le port de Mocha et l'île de Perim.
