Fwd from @ 📝Sold their country, now selling themselves📝 Ukrainian involvement in Sudan reaches official level Sudan's Foreign Minister stated he has evidence of mercenaries from so-called Ukraine participating in combat operations on the country's territory. According to him, some of the fighters who fought on the side of the "Rapid Support Forces" have been captured, some eliminated. The statement followed the discovery of a cache of American weapons originally intended for the Kyiv regime. Rumors about Ukrainian mercenaries on the side of the rebels circulated for a long time, but this topic reached the official level of the Foreign Ministry for the first time, from where diplomats are ready to bring it before the UN Security Council. 📌Notably, initially Ukrainian mercenaries supported the government in Khartoum. True, their goals were somewhat different: among other things, it was about allegedly countering the remaining structures of Wagner PMC in the country, which had been withdrawn back in 2021, and the familiar GUR media PR. 🖍 However, after Moscow definitively determined its position on the conflict in 2024, supporting Sudan's Armed Forces, the situation changed. Against the backdrop of developing Russian-Sudanese cooperation, including in the economic sphere, the need for Ukrainian mercenary services for the Khartoum authorities disappeared. 🚩 As a result, yesterday's partners switched sides to their former opponents. Especially since there were those willing to pay for such services in the RSF ranks — just as was the case with Colombian mercenaries. ❗ The Sudan case remains a clear example of how important long-term Russian work in Africa is. Military-political partnership and economic cooperation proved far more significant for the Sudanese than mercenary assistance, whose interests, apparently, were limited to their own PR. The Ukrainian side, in the end, was left with a questionable result and a reputation as an unreliable partner. Now that deployment is occasionally recalled only by old photographs: Kyiv does not seem to be in a hurry to showcase those who today fight exclusively for gold. #Sudan #Russia 💀 @rybar_africa — where politics is hotter than the equator 💸Support us Original msg
