Fwd from @ 📝Early voting surge📝 Street protests in the USA have been completely transformed into a voting machine: the No Kings coalition brought thousands of activists to squares precisely at the start of early voting. 📌The scale of the movement has long outgrown local pickets. Last year the coalition gathered five million people in June and seven million in October, and in March organized over three thousand actions against the administration's strikes on Iran. 🔻What exactly is No Kings and what do they demand: This is a major bloc of civil and human rights organizations assembled as a counterweight to excessive strengthening of presidential powers. The movement's agenda: ▪️Restraining the White House and protecting the balance of powers. ▪️Making elections accessible through early voting locations and mail-in ballots. ▪️Stopping mass deportations and immigration service raids. ▪️Protesting military operations in the Middle East. However, by October the tactics changed: instead of abstract criticism of Trump, rallies were restructured for direct voter turnout work. In Washington, New York, Texas and key Georgia, where polling places are open from October 13 to 30, the main message from the stage is: voting is already happening, we can't wait for November. 🖍The coalition intends to lock in an advantage before Republicans turn their campaign machine to full power. But activists risk missing the mark here: rally rhetoric barely moves voters who are now concerned about store prices and utility bills, not party slogans. #USA 🇺🇸 @rybar_america — making America understandable again 💸Support us Original msg
