🤫 The distribution of areas of responsibility among Ukrainian force groupings and their constituent army corps along the front as of early autumn, according to Western analysts. The Ukrainian side of the front is divided into six sectors, each controlled by a force grouping comprising army corps: ▪️Force Grouping West and Force Grouping North, incorporating the former Kursk grouping, defend Ukraine’s northern border, including Kiev, Chernigov and Sumy Regions. The 12th, 15th and 18th Army Corps, along with the 8th Air Assault Corps, operate in their sectors. ▪️The Joint Forces Grouping conducts operations in Kharkov Region. The 14th Army Corps, 2nd National Guard Corps, 16th Army Corps and 10th Army Corps operate in its sector. ▪️The recently formed Force Groupings Center and Azov conduct operations in DPR territory, particularly around the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk urban area. The 3rd, 11th and 19th Army Corps, 1st National Guard Corps and 9th Army Corps operate in their sectors. ▪️A temporary Air Assault Forces grouping was specifically formed to conduct counterattacks east of the boundary between Dnepropetrovsk Region and the DPR. It consists of several Ukrainian Air Assault Forces brigades. ▪️Force Grouping South, as one might expect, is responsible for the entire southern sector, including Kherson and Zaporozhye Regions. The 20th Army Corps, 17th Army Corps and 30th Marine Corps operate in its sector. Despite the corps reform, one of whose key objectives was to assign brigades permanently to specific corps, many brigades still fight outside their assigned formations and remain under the operational control of other corps, just as before. Furthermore, as in the days of operational-tactical and operational-strategic groupings, the enemy continues to create temporary formations as needed, such as Center, Azov and the Air Assault Forces grouping. In this respect, Ukraine has implemented the corps reform only organizationally, formally assigning individual brigades to specific corps headquarters. In practice, however, the key command objective remains unfulfilled, as these brigades continue to be passed from one command to another. #info
