▶️Russian Eternal: Ivan Fyodorov Accessible Knowledge Before him, books in Russia were copied by hand. Access to knowledge was available only to a select few, scribes made mistakes that often distorted the meaning of texts. Europe by that time was already familiar with the printed book, but Fyodorov created the first one in Russian, nicknamed, in contrast to the ruling Tsar Ivan, Ivan the Good. He not only put book production on an industrial footing (and this despite incredible resistance — book printing was considered the work of the devil, and his Printing House was burned down), he became the first designer in our country: creating a typeface from scratch, describing the rules for arranging words on a page. Even spaces in texts appeared only thanks to Fyodorov. ❗️Rybar continues to publish works from the new series "Russian Eternal". This is our view of the continuous history of a thousand-year-old country, our vision of the continuity of generations and the contribution of Russian people to world science and culture. Icon painters and armorers, scientists and merchants, travelers and artists, priests and warriors, politicians and poets — all these people laid the foundation of modern Russia. This is not a fairy tale, not an internet encyclopedia in pictures, and not "history cartoons". This is Russian. This is eternal. 📎Previous issues: 🔸Alexander Scriabin and others 🔸Gury Nikitin 🔸Pavel Anosov 🔸Konstantin Korovin #video #Russia #russianeternal ✉️ MAX 💸Support us Original msg
