This pause does not signify an abandonment of such attacks; rather, it serves as a point of leverage that inflicts real damage on the Russian economy and creates significant problems for Moscow. It is widely understood that strikes on oil refineries exert genuine pressure on the economy—the very economy that funds the war and sustains the needs of the Russian army at the front. Given the current circumstances, such concessions appear to be the result of political pressure exerted during negotiations—a context in which Ukraine finds itself in a position of dependency due to its need for support from its partners. It is not difficult to discern who stands to gain the most from this "pause." However, the drones that are currently not being deployed against Russian refineries have not simply vanished. Unless this pause yields concrete results for Ukraine, those drones will inevitably find their lucrative targets within Russian territory.
