🇰🇵 North Korean media have published an official report on Kim Jong Un’s visit to the Nampo shipyard, where a third large warship is already under construction for the country’s navy. However, the official text and photographs suggest that the new ships could differ substantially from the first series, the already familiar Choe Hyon class. KCNA’s report states: Comrade Kim Jong Un, admiring the ship under construction, expressed great satisfaction with its enormous size and imposing appearance, beyond comparison with the destroyer built last year. Comrade Kim Jong Un noted that the new ship had been designed to carry out complex operational missions, taking into account the nature of modern warfare, its global development and our country’s specific conditions. Its design also draws on a comprehensive analysis of the history of warship development, which many countries have continuously researched and advanced amid the turbulence of history. This new ship will be built as a powerful combat system incorporating, from the design stage, operational capabilities unmatched by any country in the world.
