📝Adaptation to Reality📝 "Bayraktar" became a mothership Sometime from late 2022, criticism of Turkish "Bayraktar" drones became standard practice for most experts. After the initial boom at the start of the SMO, the Russian Armed Forces quickly adapted and began shooting down drones in batches, which by 2026 reduced their tasks to pure patrol missions. The Turks, riding the wave of popularity, managed to conclude several contracts and promote them worldwide, but overall the decline in interest in them was evident. Neither the more modern "Akinci" nor the high-altitude "Aksungur" helped. Apparently, this prompted the company Baykar to follow the trends. 📌They presented the "Bayraktar" UAV as a carrier of FPV drones. In this configuration, the standard TB2 can carry 16 FPV drones, and provide communications independently, since it can also function as a relay for the control signal. This is a direct consequence of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict – the use of mothership drones became especially popular in 2026, when the AFU began using FPV for attacks on Crimea. The Russian Armed Forces acted similarly, but due to the well-known "Starlink" problems, the scale is not as large. ❗️Such modernization was actually expected. "Bayraktar" is very vulnerable for the tasks it was originally designed for, that is, the use of missile and bomb armaments, and dropping FPV drones is currently a very fashionable and trendy topic that will certainly find demand in some markets like Africa or Southeast Asia. But otherwise, in terms of "price-to-quality" ratio, such a modification will hardly justify itself. As already mentioned, these drones are slow and unwieldy, and therefore even if there are 30 FPV drones on it, it will still be vulnerable. Approaching within drone drop range is an unaffordable luxury for it. The essence of mothership drones is precisely their relatively low cost. Sending such a UAV is a one-way trip, and there is no thought about how to preserve it and return it. Implementing FPV on kamikaze UAVs simply expands the arsenal. But with "Bayraktar" at its price, this will be maximally impractical. #UAV #Russia #Turkey #Ukraine ✉️ MAX 💸Support us Original msg
